Howdy y'all
Don't know where the southern accent came from but today's a special. Woooooh!! We got two spiritual thoughts cause why not? It's my email, but it's your choice if you read it.
Spiritual thought #1 comes from a fireside recording my comp has. Its titled wake up from your phone. I want to read to tout a small part of what I wrote in my journal
"We all search for digital distractions. There's the story from the book "Percy Jackson" he shares and I love it. There's a bot and he needs to save the world in about a week. He and his 2 friends give themselves at a casino. There are floors and floors of games and distractions, which lead them to lose themselves. A couple of hours in this magical casino became 5 days. This can apply to our own technology habits. There is an infinite amount of distractions on our own personal 'magic casino'. An intended 10 minutes becomes hours wasted."
Isn't that interesting? I feel that real joy isn't fabricated online. Its with real life interactions. I how that we can take another look at our own personal technology habits. I hope this part touches somebody because it really is impériaux in this advancing world. AI will only make it easier to suck more time away.
Ok I'll add the weekly thing here, then the second spiritual thought after.
-We've met some pretty epic people this week. I would say that we had an important showing at church as well. Or little branch lacks a lot of armor young men to carry the priesthood. So that's all we've been teaching lately. We had about 5 of these young men attend church and it was HUGE!
-We found another rear in our courtyard area and had a fun time charging it around until it jumped from about 8 feet in the air and escaped.
-I had splits with our zone leader and it was really cool. He's from Congo so my French was tested a bit. But we're standing strong
This is my intended spiritual thought so send me an email of you read the whole email.
Spiritual thought #2
This comes from a general conference talk given by Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf. In our, he breaks down the story of the prodigal son. I really loved it, but I'll try to be quick... try.
He talks about the sorrow the father felt after the prodigal chose to leave his family, assuming he'd never come back.
But because of his love, he gives his son his inheritance and sends him on his way. The prodigal probably felt free and a thrill of adventure. As he spent his inheritance
Elder Uchtdorf tells us that "the party did not last—it rarely does. Two things happened: first, he ran out of money, and second, a famine swept through the land."
He probably fought every reason to return. Who world accept him? But, starving, and lowly of heart, he could only think of returning to be his father's servant.
Only the unthinkable happened. As he came walking up to his house probably rehearsing how he'd only try to be accepted as a servant, his father sees him long before the sin does and runs up to him with a GREAT. BIG... HUG.
This father's love for the lost son had only grown while he'd been away, so much so that he caused the whole house to celebrate at his return.
I love this story as with other parables about list things. In all parables, the lost items are recieve with great joy when they are returned. The same is true about souls who are lost like this story of the prodigal. Both men and women are missed by God as they choose to turn away the true joy they have. But God's love only grows as he will come running up to any willing soal who feels went need to return. NO MATTER THE CONDITION, NO MATTER THE STATE. God loves you, and there is nothing you can do to take his love away from you. I say these things in the name of Jesus christ amen
To next time, and also send me and update email. Its been a couple of weeks hasn't it?
