Before I share the story, i want to formally apologize about last weeks email. This is going to make some people mad but, Im sure half of you didn't scroll down far enough.

OK, so, I've found it, the true deep dark woods. It's here in Ayamé and it is looking pretty scary. Me and my comp had some friends pretty far out there to teach a lesson to and when we got there, they weren't home. so I decided I wanted to take the time we would have been teaching to walk through this forest. A lot of the threes here are not naturally grown. I mean, me and .y comp are far enough out there that we see some wild trees. But most trees you see here are orchards grown by the people here. But on this trip through the deep dark orchards I guess, we found that there is a house at the back of it.

Me and my companion dared not even get close. Neither of us had the guts to check it out. For me, I was afraid of cannibals.

Not really, but it was a little sketchy to be living out this far and tucked away in the forest. I've got a picture in the ones at the bottom.

Highlights:

- We have kids planned for baptism on the 15th of October. Pray for the Tanoh kids

-Comp situation is looking up, I actually enjoy his company now

- went on blots with the zone leaders. I got Elder Simbo, who is a francaphone (native French speaker) from Congo. Cool dude

-The church announced 55 new missions, and 2 of them are in Côte D'ivoire! The Daloa mission, and Abidjan South mission.

They start jn July, and I've got the opportunity (not option) to start it maybe.

-I'm beginning to understand french more, it's been really helpful and I've noticed that it's tied heavily to my self-confidence.

Not a lot of things that didn't go well. Just have a good attitude and it's literally IMPOSSIBLE for anything to go wrong.

Spiritual thought:

OK, I think this is the last christ-like attribute in the Preach My Gospel. I save this one for last, especially because... I didn't really know what to say on it. Until this email

This one, is Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I was confused. "How is faith in Jesus, a character of Jesus?" I wondered. But the christlike attributes are not meant for Jesus, their meant for us.

Faith is the first action needed for the gospel to take root in our hearts. Just like the parable of the sower (one of my personal favorite parables), they seed cannot grow in a soil that is not willing to receive it just like the gospel will not GIVE FRUIT, to those who don't accept it fully.

Accepting the gospel requires faith. Not everything will make sense now, so if these doubts enter our minds, hold to your faith. God WILL have the answers. Fruitful takes quite a while to appear after the seed enters the earth. We may plant pumpkin seeds close to the beginning of the year, and not see a pumpkin until the month of October. But does that mean that we aren't growing a pumpkin? No, of course not. It always a pumpkin, but the fruit or recognition only comes with time. The same is true for the gospel. Now, it may look like its growing into a zucchini, but I promise you that a grand big pumpkin awaits.

I also want to talk about what I said earlier. My progression in french has only come through self Confidence. Not the self confidence that is known as Pride. But TRUST IN MYSELF, as GOD TRUSTS IN ME. Now I want to turn it to you. TRUST in yourself. God has FAITH in you too, but only if you understand his gospel and have accepted it. That is called what President Nelson called "Having confidence before the lord."

Moroni 7:43-44 says

"43And again, behold I say unto you that he cannot have faith and hope, save he shall be meek, and lowly of heart.

44 If so, his faith and hope is vain, for none is acceptable before God, save the meek and lowly in heart"

Every christ-like attribute is connected one way or another. My invitation to you is; if something, be it gospel, life, sports, school, or anything else, is troubling you with doubts about your standings with god or his works, I invite you to exercise faith. And here's the important part, HOPE that God will give you an answer. Some answers come in this life, others come after. But it is important to hold on the the rod of iron, l Even if you feel it will lead you nowhere. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
