Coucou tout le monde. How was everyone's Christmas? Mine actually went well. We had what we call a "mangez-vous" with our first counselor and it was sick. I loved the food, we had fried bananas and omelets. Pretty good. 


Spiritual thought: OK, I'll really keep this one short cause the last one have been long. 

Today's come from Elder Holland's last talk for a memorial of him. Its called "and now I see". Go check it out of you can't answer this question. 

Why is Jesus spitting in the dirt important, when he healed the blind man from his blindness?

His response to that question is really profound and can apply to EVERYONE. whether your struggling with your faith, let without one, or have a strong testimony. 

I know that God truly calls his prophets and apostles to accomplish his purpose. The prophet is here to help guide us to salvation, so the we can have joy in our lives. Don't you want to hope for that? I do. And the gospel of Jesus is the ONLY way I can find hope for a happy, better future. Through all your hardship throughout life, and throughout all the afflictions caused by us or others; it can all be fixed through live of Jesus Christ and his gospel. I one was blind, but now I see. I say these things in the sacred name of Jesus christ, our loving redeemer, amen.

Here's a quick catchup of the week. We had a whole lot of partying here on Africa. Mostly with missionaries and members. But if was quite a blast I won't lie. 

The 23rd was the missionaries' Christmas party. Always great to see the MT's. Shout-out to the French GOATS 🐐. You're killing it out there

Then the 24th was the ward (really branch) Christmas party. The kids put on a nativity and it was pretty epic. 

25th was Christmas and we celebrated at our counselors and I got to talk with my family. 

26th was a wedding and we partied for about half the day there.

27th was the baptism of our wonderful friends who just got married the day before. We did them in the city of the zone and the members threw another party together so that took another day. 

But it was great. I had a blast and am ready to return to the work. Elder bunker and I have a lot of work ahead of us.

Before I share the story, i want to formally apologize about last weeks email. This is going to make some people mad but, Im sure half of you didn't scroll down far enough.  Go look again, yeah you OK, so, I've found it, the true deep dark woods. It's here in Ayamé and it is looking pretty scary. Me and my comp had some friends pretty far out there to teach a lesson to and when we got there, they weren't home.   so I decided I wanted to take the time we would have been teaching to walk through this forest. A lot of the threes here are not naturally grown. I mean, me and .y comp are far enough out there that we see some wild trees. But most trees you see here are orchards grown by the people here. Salut tous le monde!!  It is a good day! P-day is always a good day. This week has been pretty wild. I've been getting some exercise in when I can; like last p-day, me and my district went and played basketball, then Saturday we went to the soccer fields and played some soccer. For some reason we had 4 hours to spare on Tuesday and went to the gym to play some basketball again. It's kind of hard to fit in some time to go everyday, but even just going some of the days is keeping my sanity. The schedule is growing on me, I've been here a week to know that this is going to be the next two years of my life. I'm headed to the temple right now and am going to do some endowments in the Mt. Timp temple for the first time.  Yesterday was SUPPOSED to be the start of our immersion class. Where the classes become only taught in french, but the teacher teaching us didn't know French. Coucou tout le monde! How was everyone's week? Mine was just splendid. And full of amazing wildlife here in Africa. But not in a good way.  We got a rat in the guitar, ants in the walls, and cockroaches in the drains and a toilet that leaks urine...  To start off, we had a mouse that thought he could live with 4 teenage boys. First off, bad idea. Second off, he thought he could get away. Here's a quick run-down of the week Here's the story.  Story time: one morning as me and my companion were planning for the next week. The other two elders in our apartment found out that a rat had gotten in their guitar and was still in there. So like ratatouille, he had hours own John Denver guiding him around until he ended up in the guitar.  They thought it was hilarious and because it couldn't get out, they brought the guitar over to show us.
