We're back again with another one! Life's been moving along. Some things happened this week that I'll get into later. But...

thought lautirips...

Today, I feel like sharing a story that I found in a nice little book my parents sent me. Took 3 months, but I got it. It shares

"In our friendly neighbor city of St. Augustine, great flocks of seagulls are starving among plenty. Fishing is good, but the gulls don't know how to fish. For generations they have depended on the shrimp fleet to toss them scraps from their nets.

And now the fleet has moved

The shrimpers over the years had created a "welfare state" for the seagulls. The birds never bothered to learn how to fish for themselves, and they never taught they're children to fish. Instead, they led their little ones to the shrimp boats for their food.

Now the seagulls, the fine free birds that almost symbolize liberty itself, are starving to death because they gave into the 'something-for-nothing' lure! They sacrificed their independence for a handout

Let's not be the gullible gulls. We must preserve our talents of self-sufficiency, our genius for creating things for ourselves, our sense of thrift, and our true love of independence" Marion G. Romney

I hope this got you reflecting. I hope we can "learn how to fish" so that our source of nourishment doesn't disappear, and we are left to starve and suffer. We need to understand take charge of our testimony. From the amazing talk by Brother Kevin G. Brown. He says

"To me, the words take charge, work, care, own, nurture, and feed [our testimony,] sound like an agent given stewardship for something precious and important"

We are stewards of our own self, and God has a way he wants us to steward ourselves. He knows what will bring us the most joy, and all we need to do is OBEY. To us, obedience can look like people are just trying to control us. We see it too often. Faith gets broken when others misuse it. But God gave us a way to know for ourselves if our sources are true and trustworthy.

I testify to you that they are: tried and tested by millions around the world. This gospel brings joy, happiness, peace, and gratitude to all who truly want to use this doctrine to change their lives for the better. I know that these blessings can apply to us, as we diligently look to strengthen our testimony. God will not leave us in our efforts.

Ok, thanks for reading, here's the events of the week.

- We are now a trio for the week as one elder left for his mission, since he was visa waiting
- Now with 3 missionaries (1 team) we have 3 branches to work with. It will be a week for sure for sure. Love these moments
- We have two baptismal dates planned now! So cool to progress this branch a bit
I ate foutou with president and it was so good.
- We had Elder and sister Morrison from the seventy come and speak to us. They truly are inspired and brought the spirit to our meeting.
- Last week before transfers, hoping to stay in Vridi Canal with my step son to finish his suivi. Fingers crossed ðŸ¤ž
