 Old McMe's having loads of splits. E-I-E-I-O

Hey guys, another week and a half has been gone by. I don't send an email last week cause it was 4 days. Buts lets get into it

Spiritual thought: 2 Nephi 4:28 

"Awake, my soul! No longer droop in sin.  Rejoice, O my heart, and give place no more for the enemy of my soul"

I love this verse. It comes right after Nephi is dreading his weakness in sin. Then he looks at this and tells himself to awake. I don't know about you but I think about awaking, I think about getting up suddenly being startled awake. Guilt is built into the human system, it serves is purpose. It leads us to change and humility, but to dwell on these moments is not what God intended. 

I'm reminded of the song where it says 
"Wake up, and do something more
 than dream of your mansions above"
When are moments where we are just asleep, not focused and drifting through this life. We lose traction and effort little by little until the devil has lulled us away to misery and captivity. 

Our president wants us to be "Active members of his church". How can we better live up to this invitation? I invite you to ponder these things and questions and to continue with a contrit spirt to ACT. Thats where it all starts. ACTION. 

I'm so glad for this mission that has taught me ti be diligent, obedient, but most importantly, consistent. Let us not make repetition of words or actions destroy our peace and firm assurance of the things we know to be true. I know that serving with your mind active leads to miracles. I saw these things in the name of jesus Christ Amen

Before I share the story, i want to formally apologize about last weeks email. This is going to make some people mad but, Im sure half of you didn't scroll down far enough.  Go look again, yeah you OK, so, I've found it, the true deep dark woods. It's here in Ayamé and it is looking pretty scary. Me and my comp had some friends pretty far out there to teach a lesson to and when we got there, they weren't home.   so I decided I wanted to take the time we would have been teaching to walk through this forest. A lot of the threes here are not naturally grown. I mean, me and .y comp are far enough out there that we see some wild trees. But most trees you see here are orchards grown by the people here. But on this trip through the deep dark orchards I guess, we found that there is a house at the back of it.  Me and my companion dared not even get close. Neither of us had the guts to check it out. Salut tous le monde!!  It is a good day! P-day is always a good day. This week has been pretty wild. I've been getting some exercise in when I can; like last p-day, me and my district went and played basketball, then Saturday we went to the soccer fields and played some soccer. For some reason we had 4 hours to spare on Tuesday and went to the gym to play some basketball again. It's kind of hard to fit in some time to go everyday, but even just going some of the days is keeping my sanity. The schedule is growing on me, I've been here a week to know that this is going to be the next two years of my life. I'm headed to the temple right now and am going to do some endowments in the Mt. Timp temple for the first time.  Yesterday was SUPPOSED to be the start of our immersion class. Where the classes become only taught in french, but the teacher teaching us didn't know French. Coucou tout le monde! How was everyone's week? Mine was just splendid. And full of amazing wildlife here in Africa. But not in a good way.  We got a rat in the guitar, ants in the walls, and cockroaches in the drains and a toilet that leaks urine...  To start off, we had a mouse that thought he could live with 4 teenage boys. First off, bad idea. Second off, he thought he could get away. Here's a quick run-down of the week Here's the story.  Story time: one morning as me and my companion were planning for the next week. The other two elders in our apartment found out that a rat had gotten in their guitar and was still in there. So like ratatouille, he had hours own John Denver guiding him around until he ended up in the guitar.  They thought it was hilarious and because it couldn't get out, they brought the guitar over to show us.
