Hey hey hey, its a wonderful day!

How was everyone's week. Mine was well spent you could say the least. Let's jump in.

Spiritual thought: Cast off to put on

Ok, so today's spiritual thought comes from the chapter Romans 13, and there are a couple fo verses I'd like to share with you that I loved so much while studying it.

On kahoots with last weeks email, (take this as the transition) we see another phrase talking about the "NOW".

I love the spin on the words as it says "now it is high time to wake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed" -Romans 13:11

Of course now is the time to wake up, as I said last week, this work is not something we can lazily make our way through. I can't sleep my way into heaven with God.

Ok, verse 12 is where the thought comes in,
"let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light" -Romains 13:12

Two sides to it; "cast off" and "put on".

Two action words. The first invites us to get rid of something that brings darkness. I know each of us has a work of darkness in our life. Sp what should we do with it? Cast it away, but not only that. We are also asked to REPLACE it with something that has real value.

Promises are given and I know of their veracity; that you will be happier without it. No matter what it is, I promise you'll be happier without it. Even if it's something small. Cause all it is is a call to faith. Do you want to see the blessings that come? Well it starts by obeying.

President nelson gave us a great invitation by asking the question; "What does it mean to overcome the world?" Or in other words, "cast off darkness"

His response? "It means choosing to refrain from anything that drives the Spirit away. It means being willing to 'give away' even our favorite sins." - President Nelson. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH.

Give up even your most favorite sin, and see the blessings that come. When we do we "put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh," I ask each one of you to make one step towards christ, then the following steps become smaller and smaller. It's the first step that is hard.

I know many of you are missionaries. Take one thing away "that drives the Spirit away." Even the small things. I know you can do it, you were made to do it.

Weeklys:

- Saturday I got to talk with a lady from Indonesia who doesn't speak a lack of French. She knew "small, small" English so I was able to get to know her. She's been here for 6 months which is WILD I've been here longer than her.

- Comp had a few health issues so not a whole lot of procylyting hours but we make it work.

- We had the temple last week which was fire, and deserves to be written about twice.

- Sadly, not much was celebrated for the 4th of July, but I'm definitely hitting up the 24th with some roman candles ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿงจ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‡

Have a great week, and I'll see ya at the next one. Also, send me some emails, I haven't heard from a few of you in ages.
