You're a Nazi!!?
Hey guys we're back with week 53 I believe. Last week was a fun week and I'll get into it just after the
Spiritual thought: Joseph in Egypt
The story of Joseph is my favorite story in the entire old testament. I love the lessons he learned and know that they can be applied to my life.
Throughout his life, he was always in an uncertain situation. His brothers wanted to kill him, no wait, leave him in the desert. Oh hey, are those guys willing to buy a slave? Then in Egypt he was sold to a decent man where there was probably some certainty. But then Potiphars wife stepped in and got him kicked out. All he had to do to stay certain was to lie down with her. Now that he had chosen to stay faithful to God, he was thrown in prison. Did he murmur? No. Did he pray? I'm sure he did.
While being able to interpret dreams for a butler is obviously a small thing as we see the butler quickly forgot about Joseph when he leaves prison, Joseph does get brought up when the subject of dreams is talked about.
Only then did Joseph start to see the blessings from his sufferings and was able to save his family and all of Egypt from 7 years of famine.
But I want to point out that it was not the suffering and hardship that finally led to his success. It was his resilience and confidence in God. Your sufferings are not for your good later in life. Whats good is how you react to your sufferings. Think winner or think looser, and you'll be one. No matter how long it takes.
Keep being diligent, but remember that God sanctified a day for rest. Be easy on yourself and don't let your goals make you unhappy. Even if what's desired is for a good cause. Patience in your afflictions is a quality attribute. Keep loving and trusting the lord
Ok now for the weeklies
- I'll explain the title a little bit. On an exchange with an elder from Nigeria, we were chatting a bit to get to know each other. I told him that my grandpa was stationed in Germany when he joined the army for a couple couple of years. He then turns to me shocked and asks "wait, so you're a nazi?!" Haha
shhh
shhh
- we got to go sightseeing a bit as we were looking for a new place to put elders that are coming in. We're opening a new sector so we scouted an area out. It was so chill, I loved it.
- That same day, I saw a big fight, we got in the wrong bus and were headed way out of the mission, crossed a deep valley, and spent some quality time with my goat (and soon to be zone leader) Elder Mckee.
That was basically it, for the week. Nothing much, but I am so sick of this area. Get me outta here please president
