Highest Baptizing Sector?
Hey guys we're back with another week through. Hope you're getting used to the Saturday emails cause I'm not, but the day will come. let's start with the spiritual thought: Learn wisdom. So my spiritual thought comes from Mosiah 2:17 and it says
"Behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that you may LEARN WISDOM; that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of you God."
I hope that this verse is pretty familiar to you in the way that you have seen the blessings that come from service. I know that many of you are missionaries and are doing the lord's work and it's really impressive. I want to talk about the wisdom part of this phrase. Why are these wise words? Well, for a few reasons. There's a video that I watched that changed my view on the mission. It's called LIFT, if you have time go watch it. In it, there is a man that talks about the "dichotomy between healing the body and healing of the soul. When we heal the body it's always an inward effort. We're always paying attention to ourselves. When we heal the soul, turning inward doesn't work; and the triage of the soul is found in turning outward to other people"
What is one thing you can do today to heal a part of your soul? I know that even the small things bring great blessings. I was stuck for a long time on my mission with things that just felt comfortable for me to do, passing by strangers with no courage to say hi and share the light of Christ. Even the small messages that do not end in baptism is service and thus still accomplishes the work of God in our lives. I'd like to share an experience I had this week that stood out to me.
Recently, I've been reflecting a lot about my mission. There are many excuses that I could give about the mission or location to explain some of the differences I thought I saw. I was flipped on my head as we were teaching the new missionaries in the missionary training that the blessings are always there if we have the courage to accomplish them. About two days ago, we had some complications at the office which ended with me and another elder needing to take a taxi to the apartment. The other elder told me that his dad was gonna send us pizza for dinner, but we needed to place a Book of Mormon. So we took the challenge for everyone personally. If you wanted to eat some pizza, you needed to help place a Book of Mormon. Me and this elder did not have a BOM with us but we talked with the guy and I spoke some Baoule to him. He seemed pretty interested and as we were exchanging contacts, I ran in the apartment and came out with a BOM. He thanked us and we all moved on. That day we placed at least 5 Books and it was really stunning. Our sector (the office) makes jokes that we could be the most baptizing sector if we actually put effort into it. It sounds as though we may, so prayers out to us haha.
Weeklies:
- We had our MLC and a LOT of expenses were made but everyone got to eat

- The day after we had the new missionary training and I needed to present a presentation that I did not make so I winged it and we had a good discussion. (for those wondering, we just go through some mission rules for the new missionaries and the AP's kind of give a lesson about their first week in the area.

- We had an exorcism happening across the street at 10:25 pm like brother we just want to sleep.

I believe that is a lot of the week so we'll have a lot more gatherings next week so stay tuned!
